Mother Nature is Loosening the Noose!
May be a big weekend ahead of us here in Craig Montana.
The boat ramps are open.
Image above is the Craig Ramp at 4pm Tuesday March 12th.
Below the lot.
Prewitt Creek, Pelican Point, and the dam as of press are not ready for boats. Pelican and Prewitt are plowed, but ice jams on the lower two, and not plowed on the upper. Stay tuned for the latest here.
So the ramps that are accessible include Craig, Wolf Creek, Stickney, and Mid Canon. I think you may get into Spite Hill. It is plowed, but shelf ice may still be an issue. Check the bottom end of your float if you have any questions. Or just stay inside the lines and not risk it.
The lower river is something to see. Even if you don’t come out and float this weekend, swing down to snowy Craig, get your new fishing license, say hello, and take a spin down the river to see the ice!
It is truly remarkable how quickly some of the amazing ice has disappeared. Down the river!
See you this weekend for shuttles, coffee, licenses, and your spring selection fo flies.
Open daily 8am.
Looking for a boat ramp update. Is the dam open yet?
Nope. No dam Jason. WC, Craig, Stickeny, Spite, Mid Canon.
