The weather is not terrific for floaty bikini type groups…too bad. On the other hand, this is great fishing weather! And the fishing is pretty damn good.
The good news for this holiday weekend is the lack of folks around other than anglers.
On many hotter, much much warmer, weekends the ratio can be 50:1 floaters over anglers. The summer is nearing the end and with the change in the seasons will come the change in river usage.
This weekend will usher in that period. Full on Autumn. Followed by fall. Followed by late fall…
Rain will be be with us daily through the weekend into Labor Day Monday. Sunday may see some deprive from the cooler and wetter weather.
The river has been quiet. Nice. Some days in the recent past you may have only seen a boat or two. Or fewer. That is about to change. September is a popular month. Good to great nymphing and some Pseudo pain mixed in for good measure. Short leashers love September. Rock it from ramp to ramp. Streamer anglers begin to smile as well.
