Missouri River March Fishing Report

The weather has turned. And we are thankful.

This weekend’s Sp[ey Clinic has filled, but a few more spaces in the May 3rd & 4th McCune/Gould Clinic available.

Weather? Nice. In the low 50’s yesterday. Felt like 85F to us!

[forecast]

A number of boats on the water and wade fishers crawled out of their lair’s as well. A few guided trips around too. We are rolling as we warm up to the Spring Special on the 15th. $300 Guide Trips. Yep. Awesome.

The flies that went out of the shop yesterday included any number of Leech patterns. Fellers coming in and buying handfuls. I think that means…

Pink Lightening Bugs are hot too. Firebead Grey Rays, micro PT’s, Zebra’s, Newmans Own, Quig’s Exploding Midges, WD-40’s, Don King, Dominick’s Dam Fly.

Dries that folks have been using include…no-one has been out until yesterday. Dires will come this week as the weather adn daytime highs increase.

The flows are at 3880cfs on the higher end of this winter’s normal flow. It should fall as the ice flows and cold temperatures have left us. Water temps are 34.75 and holding.

Midges are here in small numbers and could pop any time. We’ll let you know.

Full Craig Trout Camp this weekend but we do have the Trout House and a couple other options here in Craig. If you would like to stay the weekend, give us a call on our Craig Lodging Hotline 406-235-3447

New products coming in daily as we prepare for the spring season. Warm stuff like socks, hats, Zip T’s, Buff’s. Cool stuff and handwarmers too.

Shop open daily for shuttles, rental boats, demo rods and lines, guide trips…see you around the coffee maker 8am sharp.
