Blackfoot River Report

Blackfoot River Report

Fished the Blackfoot River Monday with longtime guest Kelley Lasek. Good times.

A few big cutthroat and several junior trouts kept us busy most of the day. Got on the river early and enjoyed light traffic visiting a few fishing friends along the way.

The dirt snake dangling from a Chubby proved to be worthy of most fish. And that is what I saw the entire gang throwing as well.

Kelley and I did toss a bobber rig in the morning with some success too. We posted up and threw uphill into riffle ad shelf lines. Once again well executed classic techniques proved to be the winning formula.

The Blackfoot River is flowing at 3180 cfs. Just like the rest of the state it is falling quickly. By the middle of the month we should all be in good shape. Just in time for the dry fly season.

The Missouri River is our life blood but if you need to take a run across the divide we can help. Several of our fishing guides grace the waters of the Blackfoot. A nice third day for your trout siting vacation forthcoming. Inquire within and we can get you set up for your journey across the Continental Divide.

Have a great Holiday tomorrow! Be safe!
