Amadou Patch

HEADHUNTERS SAYS Mark and John will tell you that this is one of the most overlooked products in our – or any – flyshop. Amadou is a natural fungus that absorbs water at an unnatural rate. During the peak of dry fly season, we reach for this more times during the day than anything else in the boat. Just take you damp or slimed fly and squeeze it gently between the amadou patch. Follow it with a quick dusting of desiccant and your fly is as good as new. Because amadou occurs naturally and needs to be harvested, it can be hard to find. We run out every season.
