All is well here as we move into the fall period on the Mighty Mo.

We are entrenched in the Wolf Creek Lodge with our annual Advanced Fly Fishing School that kicked off last night.

An opportunity to climb to the next level of angling under the tutelage of a few of Headhunters great guides and shop staff.

What a great way to spend the early part of October learning more about the Missouri River and catching a few fish. Last night Mark presented an overview of the Missouri River in a Powerpoint presentation while finishing a Taco Bar set up by Kelli our caterer and lunch maker supreme. She had dessert too!

This morning Braden Lewis will show us the bug and insect life not he Missouri with a presentation that he has based on his bug sampling he has done in conjunction with UMOWA and Dave Staglianno. I know I learn a bunch while taking notes on Braden’s presentation.

Then off to fish the day away focussing on short leash nymph techniques this morning and then intercepting the BWO and Pseudo action later in the day. Dry flies for all.

A fun time for sure and something you should consider attending this coming year if you want an opportunity to raise the bar.

The previous private school that we held in September was enjoyed and those anglers did learn a ton and will be back later this fall to apply their knowledge first hand here on the Missouri River.

We are enjoying a great October already as the bugs are cooperating well. Good to great hatches of the above mentioned bugs with the weather providing some much needed cloud cover. Pray for more rain and snow. I know we will have great weather for the remainder of the month.
