First Day of Fall Friday Foto
Today is the first day of fall.
But it feels like winter. Snow on hand today as we are expecting in the 4″ range.
It’ll make hand warmer and glove sales brisk today.
It will also make the trout go nuts. The fall hatches are producing daily bugs that the trout are enjoying under the surface and on top of the surface. Mega hatches of the tiny BWO will keep you revved up all afternoon, Some are finding fish to cast at for the large part of the day. Your choice right now.
Fish it with a bobber and wreck ’em or fish ’em on the surface and put up some numbers too. Good times had be all this previous week as the bite has leveled off to a nice acceptable most of the day participation buy the trout. Quite good.
And the weeds are variable day to day. Yesterday worse than the day before. Today? All we know is snow.
Boat heaters make their fall debut along with the first day of fall. The Autumnal Equinox does signal that we have officially made it through the summer season! Alive. And nearly well.
Charging ahead as the non-local locals return after a 2 month hiatus. We will also see freestone trout bums ad guides make a showing as they too want to cash in on the Missouri River fall bounty.
Come by to get the hot bugs, the best in river info, hand warmers, gloves galore, a $40 YETI 5 Gallon Bucket, toques, fly line cleaner, the secret BWO patterns, a whole gob of streamers, and that free coffee on the porch. Open daily 7am-8pm.
See you smiling after the day at Izaaks for a Hot Toddy! Today the fishing days just get better as we tick off the days until the first day of winter. 3 months of mostly blissful days and nights.
Best release I’ve seen all year. No hero? shot!
