Blackfoot River September Fishing Report

Fished the Blackfoot yesterday and today. Can’t tell you what happened today, but I can chat at you what happened yesterday.

Flows ar equate low with Bonner registering about 400 cfs. Boney, skinny, thin man. Ran the NRS IDB yesterday, but will be running my Adipose Flow today. Saw a hard boat or two out there so I am choosing the slippery ‘glass bottom instead of the alternative.

Water temps cool Air temps cool. Fishing pretty hot.

Ran the BFoot nymph rig with a streamer up top and a worm below. Good action. Ran a Red Squirrel Rubber Legs with an October Caddis lead fly and that worked quite well. Good action before noon.

Chubby’s with droppers or not for the afternoon rain session. Small and large and medium floaty Chubby’s purple and royal and orange all seemed to bring fish to the net.

Pretty awesome over there this time of year. Light traffic, unbelievable scenery, and favorable trout fishing.

See us for over the hill trips along with your Missouri River experience. Why not do both while fishing with Headhunters this September.
