Great weather to start the week with overcast and calm conditions. Sunny this morning with some clouds and light rain in the forecast.
The bugs and fish and anglers sure like the grey tones of the sky.
Will we get that again soon? Let’s hope so.
As for the fishing? Good. The dry fly bite in the afternoons is really good. Great? Bordering on great. Psuedo’s have kept lots of fishermen happy and occupied for the after lunch til dusk period. Tiny cripples and emerges are the key. Tie off behind a bigger fly if you are having trouble seeing it. Lately I have been living the Brook’s Sprout and others like the tiny cripple.
Streamer huskers love this weather too. Coffey’s Sparkle Minnow has been the king. And other flashy subjects. If all else fails tie on a black bugger and strip it.
Nymphers are enjoying the historically good bite all day long with it heating up again after lunch. Short or long or in the middle too. Weight flies both gold and purple, Czech’s, Worms, or a bugger up top with the smaller status quo nymphs behind. S&M’s, Purple LB’s Pink LB’s, Peep Show, Two Bit Hookers, and the like. Love a smaller PT as well. Cheesemen Emerger? Yep.
Good weekend ahead of us as we move into the middle of the month. Only getting better everyday. Not too late to plan a trip out or over to the Mo. We got lodging and guides well seasoned and ready to go. Cool sale stuff on the rack with a full compliment of HH T’s and Hats for your pleasure.
Shop open daily at 7am. And late too til 8pm for ay late afternoon shuttles or flies! See you on your favorite dry fly flat…
