Missouri River Montana Fishing Report 9.5.13

Still summer weather here on the river.

When will it end? Oh, who really knows. We are never surprised at the forecast, the change of forecast, or the change of weather. It can happen so fast and we just learn to roll with the punches.

The fishing is getting stronger daily and we expect it to follow that trend for the entire month, and coming months. We are over the hurdle of August and the nights are cooler, the days are shorter, etc.

Nymphing is good with the amazing story is the terrestrial bite is improving and some are piecing together pretty decent afternoons, and mornings with the big bug too.

Don’t be afraid to toss it when it is cooler, with a lower sun angle, with confidence. Go and show them how it is, with confidence.

Streamer Junkies getting stronger too. Do it if you like.

Good to really good dry fly days if you can figure your way into a calm, not so populated stretch. Think about it and execute.

The weekend is upon us and with it a few more anglers. September is a great month for angling. Bring your raingear as we are having some T-Storms and inclement weather.

[forecast]

We will see you here on the Mighty MO!
